Explicit or graphic photos and videos may only be posted in access-controlled albums, and access to those albums is by default limited to subscribers of the site. This condition is stated in our Terms of use and is reinforced on the sign-up page with checkboxes where you have to confirm that you will not post explicit content in your profile or public albums.

But if you like, you can limit access to your personal explicit photos and videos even further, restricting access to a) your friends only, or b) your hand-picked friends only.

Our blog section also has a unique set of publicity controls that works for both text and media.

Please find below a detailed description of how all our publicity controls work.

PROFILE TEXT
There are no direct publicity controls for the text of your profile. That text is always visible to anyone, guests and members alike, and anybody can at any time share your profile with their friends through any social network, and search engines have at all times unlimited access to the text of your profile and can index it and make it available in search results if they so please. This publicity includes the Contact Me section of your profile, where you are free to publish any contact information you want to be public.

The publicity control you have over your profile text is simple restraint: Don't write something there you don't want the public to know - and you might do well in adhering to that simple rule of thumb on any social network you use, because anything you write on any social network has the potential go to public.

This also means that My Purple Rabbit is not really a place for people who are publicity shy...

PROFILE PHOTOS
Your profile photos are in a little album in the top-left section of your profile. Your profile photos can be flipped through by viewers and in our updated version they can also be expanded to full size. This little photo album has space for up to 20 photos, each with its own caption, and you have three settings available for the whole set.

- Public.
- Same Level (i.e. Basic, Participant, etc.).
- Friends (regardless of membership).

It's up to you if you post profile photos at all, but the site by default favours profiles with the Public setting, and favours profiles with photos over profiles without photos.

ALBUM PHOTOS, ALBUM VIDEOS
Participants and Contributors can post photos and videos to their photo and video albums, and for each photo or video you publish you have four privacy settings available:

- Public
- Subscribers Only
- Subscriber-Friends Only
- Whitelisted Subscriber-Friends Only

PUBLIC
These are the public albums. Anyting posted in a public album may be shared through search engines and social networks by anyone who uses our site, members and guests alike.

SUBSCRIBERS ONLY
A Subscriber is any person who has bought a membership to the site.

SUBSCRIBER-FRIENDS ONLY
To gain access, the viewer must be your friend AND have a subscription.

WHITELISTED SUBSCRIBER-FRIENDS ONLY
To gain access, you need to manually place a checkmark next to the username of every single friend you want to grant access to the photo/video (the whitelist is under each photo/video). To view, those friends you grant access must additionally have a subscription to the site.

BLOGS, BLOG PHOTOS/VIDEOS, BLOG COMMENTS
Participants, Contributors and Sex Writers can create and maintain a blog, and they can post up to 10 photos or 1 video with each blog in a neat little pop-up flip-thorugh gallery accessible through the thumbnail photo of the blog. The following controls are available:

Text = Public / Friends-Only
Media = Public / Friends-Only
Comments = Allow / Don't Allow

This means that you control if the text of each blog post is public or friends-only, if the media you publish with your blog is public or friends-only, and if comments are allowed.

In praxis this means that you can publish a public blog with public media; a public blog with friends-only media; a friends-only blog with friends-only media; and a friends-only blog with friends-only media. Comments for friends-only blogs can by default not be public.
